BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger review

Our friends over at BC Master have sent over their BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger for review.
The BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger comes in a neat little box, inside the box you will find the car charger, USB lead as well as instructions and a warranty card.

Upon opening the box the first thing you will see is the warranty and instructions, the instructions are all in English and cover usage as well as the products specifications.

After removing these you will see the BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger, it is a fairly attractive unit in black with red accents.

Model BCM-C01

Output DC 5V/2.4A – 9V/2A – 12V/1.5A (Max)
On the front of the BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger  is the Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 logo.
The USB lead is fairly standard and has a micro USB connector making it suitable for use with most phones.
Being a car charger it is fairly straight forward to use, simply plug it in to your cars cigarette lighter socket and connect the USB lead to your phone.
The charger is well put together compared to some of the cheap and nasty ones that I have used in the past (you have probably had some before, the ones that screw together and spring apart with even the slightest bit of a knock), the plastics feel of a good quality and the sprung connectors are also sturdy.
I have tested the charger using my Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 and the cars inbuilt USB socket as well as the BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger.
To measure the chargers efficiency I installed Ampere and ran the tests back to back and recorded the phones screen on AZ Screen Recorder no root

To get an idea of how well (or not) the BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger works I did a face off using the built in USB socket on my Ford Kuga and theBC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger.
The one thing that I did find a little disappointing was the lack of an indication LED to show that the phone was charging, whilst I could always turn on the screen to check, it would have been a nice touch to be able to take a quick glance and see.

It was interesting to see quite how much difference the BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger made, the Ford USB output was just 520mA at 4.208V whilst the BC Master managed 1460mA at 4.333v almost three times the charging rate of the Ford.
This has several real world advantages, firstly with the BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger you will be able to charge your phone a lot quicker whilst you are on the move, but more importantly for those of you that use your phone as a GPS or media device in the car it will now be able to charge whilst in operation.
I have always found it annoying that whilst connected up to the Ford USB and using GPS or sending audio over bluetooth the battery level would still drop on my handset (albeit at a much slower rate than if not connected to the Ford charger), meaning that on very long journeys I would have to turn off the GPS to save battery life.
If you have not done so already you can check out the great discount codes that have been provided by BC Master and pick up a bargain BC Master 1 Port USB Car Charger from Amazon today.
