Every smartphone company has sub-brands these days and latest to join the list is Chinese smartphone maker Elephone. The new Elephone sub-brand is “Trunk.” With the Trunk brand, Elephone has targeted to launch more affordable smartphones in the market. The first smartphone under the new brand is launched as “Elephone Trunk.” Elephone has designed an exclusive pre-sale event to pull as many pre-orders as it can for this smartphone in lower retail price for the customers.
The Elephone Trunk will feature 5.5-inch HD (1280 x 720) display. It comes powered by 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with Adreno 306 GPU and 2GB RAM.The device has 16GB onboard storage with microSD card support for further expansion. It has now become the first Elephone to sport a Snapdragon processor. It comes packed with a 2100mAh battery and runs on Android 5.1 Lollipop OS based ELE UI.
It sports a Samsung 8MP rear camera with 13MP boost, LED flash and a 2MP front-facing camera for selfie clicks. The device has dual sim dual standby support and connectivity includes 4G-LTE, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS and microUSB port. The dimensions of the handset measure 142.5 x 71.6 x 8.9 mm and weighs 138 grams. It will also be available in different back cover color options.
For this new device, Elephone have come up with the latest scheme for customers to reserve for Elephone Trunk phone. Original retail price of the Trunk is $119.99 but if the pre-orders reaches 3,00,000 mark, which is their target that makes the device cost reduced to mere $89.99. For raising the pre-orders, the company will also give free Elephone Trunk phones to lucky people.
The pre-orders for Elephone Trunk have started from August 20, and there is no word on the availability of the smartphone. As per the sources, Elephone Trunk will be available once the pre-orders are completed.
